You know how when we were kids or rather babies, anything and everything would excite us? We were always looking for answers to our unprejudiced questions. Adventure was a friend and so was failure. That feeling when we would climb up a tree to pluck a fruit, peep into a well of water to see what the world inside looked like, run behind a butterfly with wonder in the eye, touch a flower to feel the delicacy or roll down a hill and be the happiest we've ever been- all of this was magical to us.

Growing up, we've left the sense of adventure and wonder behind. Familiarity became a friend and so did vulnerability. We found comfort in taking a step back from the unknown and cozy-up to fear and safety in order to avoid failure or to protect the ego.

In times like these, we need to remember that fear, often, is excitement/delight in disguise. It hold us back but when we fight it, we experience some of the best things in life. Being vulnerable means we are stretching into new dimensions and are inviting growth and acceptance. We carve new ways out and explore new territories.
How wonderful does this sound right?

This painting, for me, was that new territory. It felt like a run behind a butterfly or a roll down a hill- filled with wonder and adventure.
